Scatter a few cheap home decorating ideas around your rooms
Hey, we all need some cheap home decorating ideas sometimes. The thing is, just because you didn’t spend big bucks to decorate, nobody has to know. You can find many bargains or even make some decorations yourself and you don’t need a craft room to do it.
Shopping at the end of a season is THE best time to find seasonal decorations. Hobby shops and department stores usually have half off markdowns right before the season is over and even bigger sales when everyone else is busy buying up next season’s items.
Cheap home decorating ideas can be made too. Try this one that takes less than 30 minutes to put together.

Buy some Styrofoam cubes and tree shapes at a craft store. You will need a bag of moss too. This often comes in varying shades of green and brown, choose your favorite.
You can use a hot glue gun or some good craft glue. Put a liberal amount on the cube one side at a time, and then lay down pieces of the moss until 4 sides are covered. It doesn’t have to be smooth.
After a short dry time, trim off the overhang from what will be the bottom.
Fold over the pieces that are on top. Hydrangea is an excellent choice for a flower because it dries beautifully and because it has a large head. I just poked a hole in the top with a pencil for the stem and...There you have it.
The candles are in the tree shaped Styrofoam that was covered in the same way. As I said, cheap home decorating ideas don’t have to look the part. See how many comments you get on those.
Let's see more decorating ideas
Here are some cheap home decorating ideas for your photos. These days when everyone has a digital camera you can provide your own artwork for your walls.
Look for sales on basic picture frames. Photos almost always look better with a mat. If the frame doesn’t come with one, you can buy them separately. If they are all hung together on a wall, using frames of all the same size and color keeps your eye focused more on the photograph. Black and white photos are a nice touch.
Take a high resolution picture of something you love, your family, your garden…ice cream maybe and have it printed in a poster sized print. Put a thin layer of craft glue on a Styrofoam or rigid foam board and carefully smooth the photograph onto it. Let it dry. Turn the board over and mark it vertically into thirds with a straight edge. Using a utility knife or something just as sharp, cut the board carefully following the lines you drew. Put a few foam sticky squares on the back of each piece and hang them on your wall leaving 2 inches or so between them. You have a totally unique and inexpensive piece of art that your friends will think was custom made for you.
Buy some wide grosgrain ribbon in your favorite accent color and with just enough fabric glue to keep it on, adhere it to the leading edge of your draperies for an instant pop.
